MR. JONAS DOOGU, A LEGACY HE LEFT!!!

Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence and guide followers or other members of an organization. Leadership involves making a sound -- and sometimes difficult -- decisions, creating and articulating a clear vision, establishing achievable goals and providing followers with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve those goals.
This young man has shown high standards of leadership skills from one district to another. It was not that different from what he has accomplished in North-Dayi. There are leaders and there are leaders. He is a leader of leaders, that is what most nurses think about him in North-Dayi.
His unit, Disease Control Unit (DCU) North-Dayi has done very well in terms of Public Health under his leadership. As an effective leader, he possesses the following characteristics: self-confidence, strong communication and management skills, creative and innovative thinking, perseverance in the face of failure, willingness to take risks, openness to change, and levelheadedness and reactiveness in times of crisis. His relationship with staffs or nurses across the district has made the job done and we nurses will continue to say thank you.
He is down to earth and is able to listen to problems of nurses and help resolve them. He does not only help in the course of duty but he also listens to personal issues and help advise because he knows very much well that, if his Nurses are psychologically sound, they will help him achieve the goals set for public health, and that is a leader.
The DCU, under his leadership, has done very well in EPI and surveillance issues. Some of us look at him as a motivator that always makes us put in much effort. Some may be mute about his job, but I bet you, he is the man for the job. We respect him very much because he knows the job and he knows what he is doing when he is in a joint duty line.
He left a legacy in the life of North-Dayi, and a major issue follows "who will take the mantle?".
Personally, I look forward to a send-off party for him to wish him the very best in his endeavour or better still wish him the best during the end of year get-together as he leaves North-Dayi. Your new place has found gold and I hope they will keep it as gold while a vacuum (galamsey pit) is left in North-Dayi.
I salute you Mr Jonas Doogu, it was a very great honour to serve alongside you in the  Ghana Health Service (North-Dayi) and you will forever remain in our minds. Thank you.
